Nov 10, 2023 · There are no light seals behind/around the gate. Only in the outer edge of the door. The light in the picture bled through the film and maybe bounced on the shiny black surface of the inside of the door but that seems unlikely.

Unlike various hacking methods and “adapters” that have existed for years, this fully modifies the film gate for a 24×40mm frame size, eliminating excess light bleed/ internal reflections. Jul 27, 2022 · We used an Arricam LT (Handheld mags and Indiecam hd assist) with Zeiss ultra primes, fitted with MB19 matte box together with the snap-on collar for the ultra's but without any flags as i wanted to see if the gate flared or had any other reflection anomalies.

Jan 19, 2014 · In theory I can understand the concept, but I would be more concerned that with the gate pictured above you would not get a clean frame line on the top and bottom of each image, possibly causing bleed between the images on your strip of film.

Jan 20, 2020 · The correct technical term is called film gate flare and it occurs when the elements of light hit the edge of the film gate before entering the film plane. This is a mechanical phenomenon and does NOT occur in digital cameras.

Nov 26, 2024 · Unfortunately I was not able to get a clear example of the shutter smear on screen. I even tried a black leader loop with the frame line centered in the gate. No edge shutter ghost (at least not jumping out at me). Then i tried a couple different lamp focus positions to see if I could force the bleed around to be worse and expose it.
