May 24, 2022 · Your E38 can be SPS flashed with an MDI or Mongoose GM. If they cannot be sure of the quality of the passthough they won't allow its use. Mongoose was certified with them many years ago. Or you can re-program it with an old Tech2 with Candi. With the Tech2 you don't even need to be online as long as you have the SI2000 program/disc.

Sep 22, 2016 · What 10_SD said is true as long as the service numbers on the e38 match! There was a hardware change in 2009, but the exact model year and month varies based on the vehicle! For example: 2008 and 2009 G8 ECMs are early e38 while 2009.5 G8's are late e38 (as are all 5th gen L99 and LS3 camaros) This incompatibility cannot be fixed with software.
