Following John Wayne Gacy’s arrest and confession in December 1978, investigators began excavating a 28-by-38-foot crawl space inside the Killer Clown’s Norwood Park Township residence, revealing 26 bodies buried in shallow graves. Each body was assigned an identifying number, and the area was sectioned off to ensure a systematic recovery.

Gacy (also known as The Crawl Space [1]) is a 2003 American crime horror thriller film written and directed by Clive Saunders, and co-written by David Birke.

After police informed Gacy of their intentions to search his crawl space for the body of Piest, Gacy denied the teenager was buried there, but confessed to having killed in self-defense a young man whose body was buried under his garage.

Gacy would lure his victims to his home in Norwood Park with force or deception, and murder them by asphyxiation with a makeshift tourniquet. Gacy buried 26 of his victims in the crawl space of his house, three others elsewhere on his property, and five more in the Des Plaines River.
