On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app . At the bottom right, tap Settings Google Assistant Assistant voice & sounds. Under "All settings," tap Assistant voice. Select a voice. Turn off speech output. When you turn off Speech Output, your Google Assistant will show you responses on your phone, but it won't say them out loud.
