Sep 11, 2009 · Recently, a client has given us HDCAM-SR 444 masters. Is there any reason to not use ProRes 444 for this (capture & output)? Capturing these Uncompressed requires a faster fibre array than what I currently possess.

May 15, 2011 · If you are shooting R3D, HDCAM, HDCAM SR, or 2k formats, transcode into ProRes 422 HQ. While ProRes can also be used for SD projects, my suggestion is to work with the native codec, such as DV, rather than transcode into ProRes.

May 19, 2011 · For example, you can output a 422 format convert signal from an HDCAM-SR deck set to 444 and maintain 100% accurate color bars. I should be able to do this in software as well. Thanks for your response, its appreciated.
