HOLMES 110 The Holmes 110 was produced from 1931 to 1935. List price was $110.00 – it was priced so the small repair shop could afford to put a truck together on a used chassis. Capacity was rated at 8,000lbs and it used the same gear drive as the 250 / 485.

The Holmes 1100 crane and fiberglass sports body was shipped from Holmes in Chattanooga to Mark Body Co, Mt Clemens, Michigan for paint and installation. The Holmes 850 was the largest commercially produced mechanical wrecker Holmes offered. The first unit was shipped in March 1950 and by 1989 332 civilian units had been built.

HOLMES 440 In the late 50’s and early 60’s Holmes was marketing the 400 and 400 RW wreckers to service stations; and they developed the new Holmes 440 for this market.

Holmes offered a factory delivery / install option at no charge to the buyer as an alternative to the no charge delivery to a Holmes Distributor. Mounting time varied from 2 days for the small wrecker to 5 days for an 850.

The Holmes 750 25 Ton Twin Boom mechanical wrecker was targeted at medium and heavy duty towing and recovery. The first unit was shipped in September of 1962 and production continued until 1990: about 7000 units were built during a 28 year production run.
