Ultra High Speed HDMI cables with Ethernet are even better. Also note that eARC isn't reliant upon HDMI CEC and can exchange EDID data without having to engage HDMI CEC.

Feb 7, 2024 · As Dolby Atmos is only supported via HDMI-ARC and HDMI-eARC if you wish to keep that being sent to the sound system you cannot use any optical splitters, only ARC/eARC splitters. In the case of the Sharc it connects to the eARC port of the TV and takes over as a fake sound system, the TV doesn't know otherwise what its doing with the audio.

I encountered an issue when I set up the new amp, and was unable to get the amp to receive eARC. I resolved this by enabling eARC in the LG sound settings, and by enabling Allow Pass Through on my LG C2.

Oct 27, 2020 · As long as the HDMI cables is "with ethernet" ARC should work but eARC needs to be supported by the source and sink devices if you want to use that option, and you have to connect the HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC lableld HDMI ports on your source and sink devices. Keep in mind that certification is only possible on passive cables up to 25'.

Oct 19, 2011 · FWIW - I'd connect PS5 directly to the tv, then eARC back to the bar. Whichever way you look at it, that's the least amount of input lag possible for gaming. As stated prior, use LPCM out from PS5.... But with my atmos bar (Sonos Arc) I've got it set as 5.1 HDMI AV Receiver. Sounds all good to me.

Dec 16, 2009 · Note that ARC is limited to SD formated 5.1 DTS, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formated audio and cannot convey more than just 2 channels of PCM audio data. eARC can convey HD formats such as 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio or TrueHD as well as multichannel PCM.

Ensure that you've selected eARC and not just ARC in the settings and also ensure to select the PASS THROUGH option on the TV relative to the eARC digital audio output options.
