Jun 30, 2024 · IMAX is worth it if you’re visiting a real IMAX theater and not a Digital IMAX (LieMAX), which costs the same but doesn’t provide you with that unique experience of excellent audio, pristine image, and visible details on a huge screen. Still, if you get dizzy easily in movie theaters, then IMAX isn’t worth the risk.

"Liemax" is a term coined in response to the IMAX company installing IMAX theaters in smaller auditoriums. True IMAX theaters have massive screens in the 1.43:1 aspect ratio (usually looks like a square) with stadium seating.
