Feb 11, 2024 · Yamaha A-1000 integrated Amp Kenwood KD 5066 TT Infinity RS 5001 spkrs I'm quite impressed with the highs and mids but really disappointed with the lack of tight bass. I don't listen at loud volumes and I've played with every available setting option, ie; DIRECT on higher vol than I'd like, direct off and LOUDNESS in addition to Bass levels.

The ones I have are a Pair of Vintage RS5001 speakers, the newer Infinity Intermezzo 2.6 with the powered woofer (it was a class A speaker in both TAS and Stereophile), and a pair of floor standing Interlude 50's (3 way with a powered 10" woofer).

Looks like the Infinity RS 1.5 does pose some challenges. Or rather it poses some challenges in the eyes of the amp builder. But the speaker builder doesn't yet understand why. Jul 28, 2022 · Of those, two pair were Infinity Speakers. There was a pair of Infinity tower speakers which seemed to be composed of 4 drivers. The cabinets were in good shape as it appeared were the drivers. They were priced at $350 a pair. Of more interest to me were a pair of Infinity Bookshelf Speakers.

The mid-range driver is supposed to be truly excellent but I don't know if it presents the range you listed or where its resonant frequencies are at. And I have some TOTL Emits available to me as well.
Whatever happened to Infinity, the speaker brand? Is it dead?
Dec 22, 2011 · Infinity had a building on the Harman Northridge campus in the late 80's. But it slowly morphed into true Harman-ization until it just is a brand concept now. There is only one true infinity engineer left at Harman that I know of and that is Mark Glazer. He was hired by the real Infinity in the mid 1970's I think. Now he is the engineer for Revel.
