Sep 25, 2023 · There's a decent chance Iroh could lure Ozai into making mistakes or surprise him or find some other way to win based on wisdom and craftiness rather than strength, and that's why Iroh says he's not sure if he could win or not if they fought.

Iroh is clearly more skilled than Ozai, even if Ozai has more raw firepower. Iroh can redirect lightning, and Ozai was shocked when Aang did it. So if Ozai uses lightning even once in the fight it’s probably over for him.

Iroh was one of the most powerful firebenders of his time, to the point where he was considered the only person other than the Avatar who could defeat Ozai; [1] Iroh himself, however, doubted his ability to defeat his younger brother.

I would have to say Ozai is more powerful than Iroh, despite how it is implied that Ozai cannot redirect lighting like Iroh can. Ozai can produce extremely powerful bolts of lighting almost instantly with only a small sliver of the sun showing.

Iroh is a very powerful firebender—i.e., he has the power to telekinetically create and manipulate fire—and a retired general of the Fire Nation. He is the elder brother of Fire Lord Ozai, the ruler of the Fire Nation and leader of its campaign to conquer the other three nations. [2] .

Iroh was horrified by Ozai's decision to burn Zuko's face after their Agni Kai, [20] and never forgave him for his cruelty toward the young prince. Iroh further distanced himself from Ozai by accompanying Zuko on his quest, and tried to sway the prince away from the path Ozai had chosen for his son. [ 21 ]

Mar 1, 2025 · Iroh and his younger brother Ozai rank amongst the most powerful firebenders in the world. Their powers are even enhanced significantly by utilizing resources such as Sozin's Comet, or the summertime season. Both of them are also capable of generating lightning.
