Mar 7, 2022 · Yes this has been discussed before, I heard the X Type R prototype was powered by a 3.0L v6 engine with a supercharger slapped on top of it, cooling under the bonnet was a problem along with the fragile transfer box. The estate and lack of diesels, plus the fact that Jaguar were loosing a lot of cash at the time, put a stop to it by Ford.
