Joseph Royle (born 8 April 1949) is an English football manager and former footballer. In his playing career as a striker, he debuted for Everton at the age of 16 and went on to play for Manchester City, Bristol City, Norwich City, and the England national team. Later, he managed Oldham Athletic, Everton, Manchester City, and Ipswich Town.

Not only was Joe Royle introduced to the Everton fold as the clubs youngest ever player at the time, but he had the unenviable task of directly replacing a certain Alex Young, when he made his debut in 1966 against Blackpool.
