Joseph W. Welz[1] (born Welzant, March 17, 1940) is an American musician best known for his tenure as pianist with Bill Haley & His Comets. Welz was born in Baltimore to Melba Welzant, a teacher and concert pianist, and Joseph Welzant, a Baltimore city police officer.
