Jul 4, 2012 · That Barrett Road access is a great place to launch a kayak which then opens up a lot of water. If you go upstream past that large gravel bar, the Middle Bosque River reasserts itself and becomes a clear running stream full of Perch and Bass, some big. At the current lake level you may be able to wade quite a ways upstream.

Nov 23, 2010 · My favorite species to target in CA are stripers, especially in the surf. In Washington its coho salmon off the beaches. Anyways, I am trying to plan a budget trip with a buddy over my winter break. I would like to do a week-long kayak mission to Padre Island and was hoping I might receive some advice here.

Apr 6, 2005 · To the south of the flood gates is a pond of water. At the NW corner of that pond closest to the gate is a smooth spot clear of grass and could very well be deemed a kayak launching ramp. A short paddle from there is the east shore of Moses Lake. It is talked about in Ray Crawford's book, Wade and Kayak Fishing the Galveston Area.

May 1, 2016 · Also I see you plan to side mount the engine. With the side mounted outboard comes outriggers (or at least one on the side the engine is on). This is added cost, added rigging and tear down time and additional things to transport. I would not recommend adding an outboard to the side of your kayak without an outrigger or stablizer.
