Aug 6, 2022 · Kaien Shiba's Zanpakuto was destroyed and Metastacia fused with him to use to attack Ukitake and Rukia. When Kaien died, his body (thanks to Metastacia) went to Hueco Mundo where Aaroneiro ate him and absorbed his powers. Which is why Aaroniero could mimic Kaien's abilities - he was literally puppeting Kaien's dead body.

Jun 5, 2022 · Isshin is Kaien's uncle so he and Ichigo are first cousins. Kaien's father is Isshin's older brother. We know this based on how main and branch families work. Also in the novel We Do Knot Always Love You, it is revealed that Isshin was already the captain of squad 10 and he was shocked when he heard his proud nephew had passed away.

Kaien was a Shiba, i don't think it's stated whether they're (Ichigo and Kaien) first cousins, second cousins, uncle-nephew or whatever. But he's related to Isshin who was the head of the Shiba Clan, and obviously Ichigo's dad.

Feb 23, 2015 · Do you think Kaien was already dead during the Isshin flashbacks (20 years ago)? It seems like it's possible, because we know Kaien was the head of the Shiba household when he was alive, and during the Isshin flashback they say Isshin is the head despite being from a lesser family branch. That would place Kaien's death between 20-52 years ago..

Anyways, Aizen extracts some of these fragments of Kaien's soul to create White, and then leaves Metastacia at the mercy of Aaronierro. So, Kaien is now turned into White, and Kaien being a pretty skilled Shinigami, is able to kill multiple Shinigamis as White.
