In fact this forum has been very useful to me to hear people post about all their liver tests, and they all seem to come back perfectly fine, leading one to conclude that kava is not harmful.

Essentially the synergistic effect observed in brain tissue penetration suggests that ingestion of other drugs like alcohol may affect the concentration of kavalactones in the brain. Drinking Kava with alcohol may also increase alcoholic effects.

Feb 26, 2015 · I have successfully swapped kava for alcohol and my liver function tests have improved a good deal. I now drink alcohol 1-2 days per week, instead of 7. I have Kava 3-5 days per week. Kava is king!
