The Washington State International Kite Festival (WSIKF) is a week-long kite celebration and competition held annually during the third full week of August. Starting on Monday and ending on Sunday this Long Beach, Washington State vacation extravaganza boasts skies ablaze with color, high flying action and choreographed movement.

The Washington State International Kite Festival draws thousands of locals and travelers, individuals and families of all ages to the windy shores of Long Beach for a week long celebration of all things kite!

Come join the fun and witness a truly unique kiting experience. If you want to see more indoor flying, plan to attend the 25th Annual Windless Kite Festival in Long Beach in January 2025 (dates to be announced soon)!

The Washington State International Kite Festival (WSIKF) is a week-long kite celebration and competition held annually during the third full week of August since 1981. It is renowned in international kite magazines as one of the best places in the world to fly kites.

This year The Washington State International Kite Festival is proud and honored to have the Windjammers as our International team. Gary, Michael, Jon, George & Ronnie will be sure to stun and amaze with their choreographed stack kites and other displays of aerial artistry.

Please observe the Kite Festival hours – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. On Friday and Saturday night there will be a lighted kite fly. You may remain open longer hours on any festival days, but must be open during stated hours.

They range from massive flying creatures to tiny marvels, encompassing various styles such as high-speed stunt kite formation flying and graceful indoor flying without the need for wind. No matter your preferences, there’s a kite style that suits you.

The Washington State International Kite Festival draws over 100,000 visitors each year. Kite enthusiasts, spectators and families love shopping from the wide variety of shops our vendors set up each year. At this time space is limited to 55 vendors.
