Kuro (Japanese: 黒, which translates to "black"), is the main antagonist of the 2015 video game Ori and the Blind Forest. She is a dark owl who was responsible for plunging the forest of Nibel into darkness and ruin.

Kuro is a large, black owl that snatched Sein from the Spirit Tree, thus removing the light from Nibel. She is the main antagonist of Ori and the Blind Forest. On the night of the Light Ceremony, Kuro was feeding her three chicks, and left to gather more food for them.

Ku is the only remaining offspring of Kuro. An owl hatched in Swallow's Nest shortly after the death of her mother, and the revival of Nibel 's Spirit Tree, she grew up living a tranquil life with Ori, Naru and Gumo as her family.

After restoring the Element of Water, Ori encounters Kuro for the first time and is nearly sent to their second death being flung from the heights of the Ginso Tree. Gumo repays Ori's kindness with some of his own and saves the spirit, leaving them to see the waters restored.

That, plus her darkness and her first encounter atop the Ginso tree make her very intimidating. Shriek's design, on the other hand, is a bit of a mess.

Mar 15, 2018 · So I just finished my second playthrough of this awesome game, but I can't figure out exactly, why Kuro and her children are dying from the light of the spirit tree. Do you guys have any ideas or even self-made theories?

Kuro's Nest is a location within the Forlorn Ruins that serves as a home to Kuro, her Egg, and formerly, her Owlets. It is here where Ori discovers the motive behind Kuro's seemingly unexplained fury in a heart-wrenching flashback.
