L34, L35 vs L78 - Team Camaro Tech
Nov 25, 2007 · L34 = 350 hp L35 = 325 hp L78 = 375 hp Mine is an L34(I think) or an L78(I hope) What do I need to know to identify which I have? It has what appears a stock high rise manifold that was painted a cheesy silver, which I repainted orange. Any other signs that don't require tearing down the engine?

Aug 20, 2007 · I have a complete running 396 big block I may be selling in the future to build another engine. It is the 350 HP version (RPO code L34) that was avaliable in 1970 for the Chevelle SS, Camaro SS and the Nova SS models. The suffix code is CTW. The head casting dates are Feb 4 and 5, 1970. The block casting IIRC is around Jan 29 1970.

Oct 14, 2014 · re: 69 SS396 X66 L34 The work has been stalled for a while because I moved from Mass to Mich. I've finally been getting back to sneaking away to the garage. My plans are basically stock with a very few day two items. I'll probably be …
350 hp 396 cam - Team Camaro Tech
Apr 28, 2021 · The Sealed power CS1093M is a copy of the 396/350HP L34 camshaft. It's 214/218 duration @ .050",.461"/.480" lift, and 115 DEG LSA. There are certainly better cams available for a mild 396. I would look for a cam with around .500 lift and an LSA between 112 and 114. If your on a budget the Summit Racing SUM-1301 is a nice mild cam.

Trim tag on possible 1970 SS396 - Team Camaro Tech
Apr 17, 2009 · Here's the thing. If this really is an SS396, that's a complete game changer for me about this car. In 1970 only 1,864 L34 SS Camaros were made. The only thing rarer in 1970 is the L78, the SS396 with 375 HP. About 8,700 Z-28's were made. To put all of this in perspective, 112,000 Camaros of all types were made that year. So this is quite a ...
