LATS2 - Wikipedia
Large tumor suppressor kinase 2 (LATS2) is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the LATS2 gene. [5][6] This gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the LATS tumor suppressor family and participates in the Hippo signaling pathway where it inactivates the effector proteins, YAP and WWTR1 (TAZ).

Dec 25, 2024 · LATS2 (Large Tumor Suppressor Kinase 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with LATS2 include Malignant Peritoneal Mesothelioma and Liposarcoma Of Bone. Among its related pathways are Pleural mesothelioma and DYRK1A involvement regarding cell proliferation in brain development.
The LATS1 and LATS2 tumor suppressors: beyond the Hippo …
Feb 21, 2022 · Induction of LATS2 contributes to p53 tumor suppressive functions through a positive feedback mechanism, wherein the LATS2 protein promotes p53 stabilization by binding and inactivating the major p53 inhibitor MDM2, while p53 directly positively regulates the transcription of the LATS2 gene. 87, 88, 89 In addition to regulating basal levels of ...
LATS2 Positively Regulates Polycomb Repressive Complex 2
To understand novel functions of LATS2, we constructed a LATS2 knockout HeLa-S3 cell line using TAL-effector nuclease (TALEN). Integrated omics profiling of this cell line revealed that LATS2 knockout caused genome-wide downregulation of Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) and H3K27me3.

May 1, 2016 · We discovered that Ser872 T-loop and Thr1041 hydrophobic motif (HM) phosphorylation of LATS2 is essential for LATS2 activation. MST1/2 phosphorylate LATS2 on Thr1041, but not Ser872, while MOB1 binding to LATS2 supports both phosphorylation events.
Lats2 Is an Essential Mitotic Regulator Required for the …
Jun 29, 2007 · We show that the Mob1 family, a regulator of mitotic exit, associates with Lats2 to induce its activation. We also show that the complete LATS2 -knock-out cells exhibit an acceleration of exit from mitosis and marked down-regulation of critical mitotic regulators.
Regulation and functions of mammalian LATS/NDR kinases: …
LATS2 expression is also regulated by TTP (tristetraprolin), an ARE (AU-rich element) binding protein that promotes the degradation of ARE-containing transcripts , and at least six different microRNAs have been shown to negatively regulate LATS2 expression [77-81].
Lats2 is critical for the pluripotency and proper differentiation of ...
Jan 10, 2014 · We analyzed the involvement of the tumor-suppressor Lats2 in mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC) pluripotency and differentiation, and report that mESCs lacking Lats2 are unable to sustain stemness...

LATS2 condensates organize signalosomes for Hippo pathway
Jan 10, 2024 · Here we report that LATS2, the core kinase of the Hippo pathway, responds to F-actin cytoskeleton reduction and forms condensates. The proline-rich motif (PRM) of LATS2 mediates its...
