The Lisu people (Lisu: ꓡꓲ‐ꓢꓴ ꓫꓵꓽ; Burmese: လီဆူလူမျိုး, [lìsʰù]; Chinese: 傈僳 族; pinyin: Lìsùzú; Thai: ลีสู่) are a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group who inhabit mountainous regions of Myanmar (Burma), southwest China, Thailand, and the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Lisu (Fraser alphabet: ꓡꓲ-ꓢꓴ, ꓡꓲ‐ꓢꓴ ꓥꓳꓽ or ꓡꓲꓢꓴ; Latin: Lisu ngot; Lisu syllabary: ; Chinese: 傈僳语; pinyin: Lìsùyǔ; Burmese: လီဆူဘာသာစကား, pronounced [lìsʰù bàðà zəɡá]) is a tonal Tibeto-Burman language spoken in Yunnan (Southwestern China), Northern Burma (Myanmar) and Thailand and a small part of India.

Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture [a] is an autonomous prefecture in northwestern Yunnan, China. The titular ethnic group is the Lisu people, who make up nearly half of the prefecture's population. The state is long and narrow, with an area of 14,585 square kilometers and a total population of 552,700.

The Lisu ethnic group numbers 702,839 people and most of them live in concentrated communities in Bijiang, Fugong, Gongshan and Lushui counties of the Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in northwestern Yunnan Province.

Originating from the northern Qinghai-Tibet plateau, the Lisu ethnic group is a transnational minority group of China, Myanmar, India, and Thailand. The Lisu ethnic minority in China is mainly distributed in Yunnan, and Yunnan has a Lisu population of about 660,000.

There are about 700,000 Lisu people inhabit in China, mostly live in Yunnan in their traditional homeland of Three Parallel Rivers National Park. They are known for long festival days with much dancing and playing music on traditional instruments.
