Cessna 140 vs. Luscombe 8E - Pilots of America
Nov 8, 2014 · The Cessna 140 is a dog on a hot day with two people. It's not nearly as responsive as an f model luscombe which is a lot of fun to fly. Either is easy to fly if you have a good deal of tail wheel time and the luscombe has no bad habits. The f model luscombe has wing tanks and advanced gear and single struts. A great airplane to be sure.
Help me design a new panel for my Luscombe | Pilots of America
Aug 26, 2017 · I recently bought a 1946 Luscombe 8E. The panel is an ugly hodgepodge of gauges, has some empty holes, some questionably functioning instruments, has different breakers scattered around, and I have a stuck fuel sender in my right tank. Moreover, I don't have a turn & bank indicator or an...
Learning the Luscombe (and an introduction) | Pilots of America
May 3, 2010 · Enjoyed your videos on the Luscombe List. The Old Man and I have been on it since the mid 90s. I found no issues with your landings. The Luscombe is not a Cub or a Champ. It handles somewhat differently. If you were landing that well in a Luscombe in that crosswind, you are doing well and don't need advice from an Internet forum.
Instrument Panel in a Luscombe? - Pilots of America
Nov 13, 2020 · I knew a Luscombe 8E owner who actually filed and flew IFR. He used the L & R glove boxes to mount a pair of Nav Coms. Radios in one and a single CDI/OBS in the other. Dissimilar brands, btw. If I remember, he also had at least a venturi driven DG. May have also had an ADI. He and I had the only two Luscombes at the airport.
Look, A Cessoony - Pilots of America
Mar 29, 2018 · The Luscombe 11E was another unsuccessful 172 clone. It was essentially the Luscombe Sedan put on tricycle gear. Both the Luscombe and Aero Commander claimed to be better than the 172, but it's hard to dethrone the king. Not to mention they both look a little odd.

Jun 28, 2009 · I hear this "lady" wants to fly taildraggers. :D
Luscombe vs. Taylorcraft vs. Chief | Pilots of America
Nov 29, 2019 · The Taylorcraft and Luscombe handle pretty similar. Both have massive amounts of adverse yaw. The choice between those two should be stick vs yoke preference. I’ve only sat in a Chief and seen them fly so can’t comment on it’s handling. The Luscombe is all metal which is a huge advantage if it will sit outside. I would pass on the Champ.
FS: 1948 Luscombe 8E - Pilots of America
Jun 24, 2008 · Always liked the Luscombe vis-a-vis the early TW group. Looks sturdy, and sprightly. Without impugning the landing characteristics of the type, I have heard that there are mods to the gear, or the rudder, or both that make some …
Getting my Private Pilot Certificate in a Luscombe.
Aug 26, 2017 · I did however, aired up the tires to 30 psi at first. She was a little "twitchie." I read the POH and found that 18 psi was recommended. Much better. There are at least three Luscombe user groups that are great sources for info, STC's, etc. Monney Larsen bought the Luscombe company around 1947.
Luscombe 8E Reports, anyone? - Pilots of America
May 11, 2007 · Do not pull the stick back to your gut until the wheels are on the ground. This plants the airplane. If you do so in the air, you will fall out. That's not good. For me, this was the biggest different between the Luscombe and the Cub. The Luscombe (all varieties except the T8F tandem version) lands like a pussycat. It's the rollout that gets ya.
