Aug 12, 2015 · Take the stats from a medium sized axe (whatever one in your system is appropriate for one or two-handed wielding should be the right size), add in the stats for a lute, and call it a day. For 5e, it looks like either handaxe (1d4) or battleaxe (1d8) would be appropriate, 1d6 or 1d8 would probably be reasonable.

May 26, 2022 · Wear heavy armor and a weapon suitable for GWM, probably a Greataxe to attach your lute to, get the Unarmed Fighting Fighting Style from Fighter (or Defense/GWF/Interception if you don't feel like having Flurry of Blows in your repertoire).

Oct 2, 2009 · If you need to justify it working, you've either got magic (ie, the Dwarven War-Lute being basically an Axe with some strings on it) or magical substances (Ironwood being robust enough that the neck won't snap and the sounding-chamber won't break any time soon).

Jul 11, 2017 · As a DM, I would say that the crafting of such a specialized item would run you (cost of greataxe + cost of lute) x 2, which I believe will land you somewhere in the 150gp range. There's nothing really broken about this combo that I can see, so why not?
