Jun 10, 2017 · The siderail markings (DWM for M1899 and Steyr for M99/07) were scrubbed in the Yugo rebuild but fortunately the model designations M1899C and M99/07C remain under the crest on the rebuilt (shortened) rifles. New serial numbers were marked and the "C" was added to the model designation.

Areas of spotty oxidation here and there, heaviest around the front sight. No major damage to the wood stock, just the typical signs of wear. There are some initials stamped into the left side " SJC HULSE". Excellent shiny bore with great rifling and just some minor fouling in the grooves.

Mar 9, 2024 · The hand guards have strong metal clips that fit around the barrel that can cause cracks in the thin, delicate wood over time. If you find one, remove your rear sight and fit the hand guard clips over the front muzzle end of the barrel first, then slide the hand guard back into position before remounting the rear sight.

Aug 29, 2008 · The front of the sight is the end with the windage lock lever, so it appears to be on there in the correct orientation. I have no clue as to whether that sight would be "original" or "correct" for the rifle, one of the historians more familiar with the rifle will have to answer.
