New serial numbers were marked and the "C" was added to the model designation.

Aug 29, 2008 · The front of the sight is the end with the windage lock lever, so it appears to be on there in the correct orientation. I have no clue as to whether that sight would be "original" or "correct" for the rifle, one of the historians more familiar with the rifle will have to answer.
