Oct 13, 2024 · Just wanted to get people’s perspectives on the M46’s addon armoured cage. Does anyone find it to be useful? I personally think it gives the tank a huge silhouette and makes it easier to spot so I don’t use it.

Oct 23, 2022 · I don't use the cage, but I do agree that this is a fabulous tank. One unremarked upon reason that it does pretty well is that unlike the M47 and M48, on the M46 the HEAT-FS and APHE have the exact same ballistics, but otherwise it is a fast tank with good reload and both HEAT-FS and APHE.

Jan 10, 2023 · You got vehicles like the IS2-1944, M46, Striker AGS, all get extra add on armor in the form of a metal cage (is2 could be excluded since it only covers the turret sides but imma leave it), but at their br it seems to me they're hardly working.

Sep 15, 2020 · But does anyone know for sure whether that big boxy cage upgrade that the M46 gets actually does anything vs HEAT, HESH or even missiles? I'm guessing it is pretty useless except against very low penetration attacks.

Feb 13, 2024 · M46 in game is simply a M26 with a better engine, HEATFS and optional chicken cage. It plays almost identically to a standard fast medium tank. M47 retains the good engine and replaces the old M26 hull with a better sloped one from a failed prototype, and uses a turret that has a smaller frontal profile.
