Sep 23, 2010 · Make MKV - This will rip the Blu-Ray disk and give you an easy-to-work-with MKV file. mkvtoolnix - This will allow you to extract, merge, and generally play around with the different streams in an MKV file. Many Linux distributions have this in their repositories; on Ubuntu/Debian 'sudo aptitude install mkvtoolnix' will take care of it for you.

May 15, 2020 · As of MakeMKV v1.15.0 (March 3, 2020 version) there is no direct integration between MakeMKV and VLC to allow VLC to play blu-rays (maybe UHD also, I do not know because I did not try that).

Jul 2, 2024 · Tried ripping a Blu-ray and got a message that said evaluation period had expired. I click on HELP tab and it said it was still valid until Sept. '24.

Jun 16, 2011 · Same issue here. After using Make MKV on my iMac (running 10.7.1), I opened a DVD up in the mac DVD player, and it prompted me for a region change from 2 to 1. The strange thing is, the disc I burned was not a region 2 - it was The Expendables, region 1. I can confidently say that this never happened before until I used MakeMKV.

Apr 10, 2022 · We can now stop the backup, delete the backup files and re-open the disc and rip the video title we need. Note: Some people prefer to create a full backup and use File > Open > /BDMV/index.bdmv to open the backup to rip the preferred title from the backup.
