Because the regular font now was a TTF file, it could now easily be replaced by other fonts that use the TTF format by replacing a single file with a resource pack.

Aug 15, 2022 · The file you are looking at is a font file, it defines a list of font providers used to change how characters such as letters and symbols look in minecraft. "type" is the type of provider, as in wether the provider should use ttf (truetype font) or a bitmap (a png image containing the characters). There are other types that I won't go over.

May 27, 2020 · The vanilla default resouce pack already has another custom font! It's called "alt.json" and contains all the Standard Galactic Alphabet letters used as the enchanting runes. So you can now in vanilla Minecraft in snapshot 20w21a use the following command to use this font:

Sep 27, 2022 · wtf are you on bedrock is WAY better performance wise, its built on C++ which is almost always faster than java and bedrock was made with the main purpose of running on low end machines which it does pretty well, you can go up to 96 chunks render distance whilst in java you can only go to 32. bedrock is also way more optimized compared to vanilla java
