Mora 511 Review - BladeForums.com
Mar 18, 2013 · From what I can tell it seems like an OK knife for $10, but to me a $10 knife is a knife that is good for a tackle box or garage, not to bring in the field. I would rather spend $30-$40 or a little more for a "Cheap" Knife. The handle on this one looks like it is a good shape but it also looks like hard plastic.
The New Mora 510 Initial Review. - BladeForums.com
Jun 3, 2010 · As stated the new Mora 510 is thinner than the older 510 or 511 but is the same thickness as the new 511 which is .079. The older 510/511 was .098 thick. The difference in the below pic is a bit exaggerated because the old 511's spine has been filed flat for easier firesteel sparks. I will file the 510's spine flat soon.

Mar 28, 2018 · 100% they're there for tang-handle connection. I doubt Mora is fine-tuning the center of gravity of the knife by fractions of an ounce, particularly when blade length plays such a large role in that. per my earlier post, I don't think a mora would ever break inside the handle. The steel tang is supported by the plastic.
Mora Basic 511, but better! - BladeForums.com
May 17, 2006 · Yeah, once I cut the 511 down it still fit into the sheath with the large area designed for the finger guard. I just used the good'ol Dremel and cut the top a little and the opened up the bottom enough to fit a 3/8" firesteel.

Jun 27, 2007 · I saw Mora classic 2 in hardware store, and I could not pass the knife for 15eur. It comes with adequate plastic sheath but kind of leaves to be desired if you want that "great outdoors" feel to it. So what I did with it, I took the red paint …
Mora 511 or Mora Pro C? - BladeForums.com
Apr 22, 2017 · "Morakniv Pro C is an upgraded classic. It’s the faithful servant, Basic 511, with new improved features. Simply a real professional knife." In their own words, not mine, so again, any actual difference in blade is negligible at best.
The best all around Mora Knife - BladeForums.com
May 27, 2012 · The Mora Triflex is amazing. It was my first Mora and I am now a huge fan of their edge retention and ease of sharpening. I have used it relentlessly and I have only sharpened it once quite a while ago and it is still ridiculously sharp. I think the Triflex runs about $25-35. They also have the C-223 which is their butcher knife.
Multiple Reviews: Eriksson Mora 510, 511, and 521
Nov 1, 2004 · The 511 has a blade all of 3.68" long. The blade is marked the same as the 510, and has the same clip point. It also came very sharp, and was made extremely sharp with just a few passes of 1000-grit sandpaper. This is a very nice carving knife for beginners. The 521 has the same clip point blade, and it's 3.9" long. Again, it came extremely sharp.

Apr 21, 2010 · The knife came sharp enough and I soon put a quick micro bevel on. I have a 511 Mora and never really cared for it and was dissapointed after reading all the great reviews. However the companion is a totally different story, and is better than I could have ever expected. Just a wonderful knife overall and great quality.

Jan 6, 2016 · The Companion HD honestly does feel a bit better and more solid in the hand, cause of the grip material and lack of guard, but the 511 is just so worth it. Get the 511 with rubberized overlay on the plastic handle, that version is a bit better. They have rubber coated and non-rubber coated 511s. Here are mine for comparison, the top two:
