Moya is a female Leviathan transport vessel; a living sentient bio-mechanical space ship, who was once captured by the Peacekeepers. She escaped captivity along with the people imprisoned on her by the Peacekeepers. She has given birth to one offspring, a male by the name of Talyn.

Earth astronaut John Crichton is unexpectedly hurled to an unknown part of the Milky Way galaxy via a wormhole. He finds himself in the middle of an escape attempt by Moya, a living spaceship, from the militaristic Peacekeepers, who had been using it as a prison transport.

Crichton's craft is pulled aboard a large spaceship named Moya, a Leviathan (a biomechanoid, i.e., a "living ship") where John meets his first aliens (Zhaan, D'Argo, Aeryn Sun and Rygel). Shortly after, John meets Bialar Crais, who wants revenge for his brother's death.

Moya is the ship and main setting of Farscape. She is a Leviathan, a race of living, intelligent ships. Navigation is provided by a Pilot, a creature who is directly connected to the Leviathan's nervous system. Pilot also speaks for the Leviathan, allowing her to communicate with the crew.

Moya, the Leviathan spaceship was a prison ship. The prisoners managed to break free from their cells and tried to take control of the ship. The peacekeepers - the soldiers/guards - tried to stop that from happening by attacking the ship using small, fast prowlers.

She is a Leviathan -class transport ship bred and built by the authoritative governing body known as the Peacekeepers. Although Leviathan ships are basically genderless, Moya is often referred to as a female.
