Feb 3, 2025 · As part of a multi-year campaign, the AARC and CoARC have collaborated again with the NBRC to spread the message that The World Needs More RTs. As part of our mission to highlight the RT shortage, we’d love to feature your respiratory care journey to educate and inspire others to join the profession.

The examinations for the RRT credential objectively and uniformly measure essential knowledge, skills and abilities required of advanced respiratory therapists. The NBRC evaluates the competency of respiratory therapists and ensures that graduates of accredited respiratory care education programs have every opportunity to earn the RRT credential.

All NBRC examinations are written and developed by a committee of credentialed respiratory therapists and pulmonary function technologists, as well as physicians who specialize in pulmonary and respiratory care.

Apr 13, 2020 · Because the need for respiratory therapists has never been greater, NBRC has successfully secured nearly 70 PSI assessment centers for candidates to take the Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) and Clinical Simulation (CSE) Examinations starting as early as April 15.
