NJ PBS (known as NJTV prior to 2021) is a public television network serving the U.S. state of New Jersey. The network is owned by the New Jersey Public Broadcasting Authority (NJPBA), an agency of the New Jersey state government which owns the licenses for all but one of the PBS member stations licensed in the state.

NJ Spotlight News is NJTV's nightly news program. The program covers news across New Jersey with a concentration on government and public policy.

Meanwhile, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has proposed a reduction of the state’s annual appropriation for NJ PBS from $1 million to $250,000.

2 days ago · Deb Falk, a spokesperson for NJ PBS, declined to identify the employees who received layoff notices. According to Current, NJ PBS operated at a $1.4 million deficit. Gov. Phil Murphy’s budget proposal reduces state funding to NJ PBS, formerly NJN and NJTV, from $1 million to $250,000.

Such programming includes a weekday nightly news and public affairs program, live broadcast of New Jerseys annual State of the State Address and Budget Message, and live coverage of New Jersey's elections, as well as other cultural, educational, and inspirational programming.
