Jun 25, 2016 · Before the driver update which enabled Vulkan support, PPSSPP didn't let me choose Vulkan mode. Now I can choose it, but after that the emulator crashes every time I open it. Make sure to switch to "Skip buffer effects" rendering mode, Vulkan is still WIP and does not work with buffered rendering. That option doesn't fix the bug.

I haven't used PPSSPP in a while and when I started it up yesterday, it crashed just a second or two after it launched. I'm not sure why it's doing this and I don't know if a Windows update or something else is behind it for the following reasons:

Jul 28, 2023 · once you delete retroarch.cfg it is replaced by the default config, It won't stay deleted, so that is not the problem. try deleting ppsspp.opt at retroarch/config. That seems to have worked. I started retroarch in desktop mode, then opened the file explorer and deleted the opt file while it was running. Ppsspp started without crashing.
