That's it. BTW, you need the special adapter that Sony offers for free for PSVR to work, though I think it comes with new purchases of the gizmo.

Apr 30, 2021 · An inexpensive pair of headphones using a usb dongle transmitting via wifi could very well beat the crap out of high end headphones connected to the controller. Good headphones matter, but compression matters just as much if not more so. Direct wired connection from headset to console would mean no compression.

Jan 2, 2023 · I'm not having much success with using the voice input/mic on the PS5 Pulse Headset on Discord/PC. Audio works great - I hear fine. Painless setup. But my friends on Discord say they can't hear me well at all. I've set Discord input/gain to max. I can't find much help on this, though my google-fu might suck.

Apr 30, 2021 · I can use the same expensive headphones on both the XSX and PS5 but games sound way worse with PS5's 3d audio and great on XSX's Dolby solution. I turn off 3d audio and it sounds clearly fuller but obviously missing the 3d aspect. It's not a headphone issue.

Mar 9, 2022 · If you have 7.1 then your PS5 will output to those channels. 3D audio is only for 2ch output like headphones or TV speakers to mimic surround sound. But you have true surround. Also set your PS5 to Dolby or DTS as PCM only supports up to 5.1 IIRC. Also 3D Audio is powered by the tempest engine. They're one and the same.

What I'm experiencing are seemingly random, and sometimes frequent, quick "stabs" of heavy distortion/garbled sound. Like maybe one second tops. It's loud and jarring and I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting.

I don't even use a headset for chatting, just normal headphones that need to be amped, and it has been a huge pain getting the PS5 to output its virtual surround via an external UAC1 DAC due to all the hardware and software output limitations the system has.
