Jun 23, 2020 · Take a knife and your M2 card and start gently scraping plastic off it. You scrape right above the gold pins on the side of the card where you see the gold pins. Don't scrape the tip of the card, but rather the plastic body, where you would expect the memory to be. Scrape it good. You'll eventually get to a copper-colored layer. This is the PCB.

Jul 21, 2015 · The PSP won't read or support FAT32 filesystems. You need to reformat the cards as FAT, then put them both in the adapter, then plug the adapter in, then format the cards from the PSP itself.

If you're just now getting a PSP you're probably going to want to eventually run custom firmware. CFW not only opens up your PSP dramatically but it also allows you to easily run every PSP game made, PS1 EBoots, and other emulated content.

The reason why is because the formatting process creates PSP specific files that you will need when you format the high capacity memory card OUTSIDE of the PSP. So, for step one - format a smaller memory card and copy the files to your computer. I suggest in a folder on your desktop.
