Jan 7, 2024 · Outdoorsmans Gen 2 Pan Head. To go along with the Gen 2 legs is the new Gen 2 Pan head. I still use the original Outdoorsmans Pan Head on a nearly daily basis. The Pan Head is an engineering work of art. Like the legs, the stability-to-weight ratio is excellent. There is no better head for grid glassing.

Mar 8, 2017 · Various optics tested on the Outdoorsmans Pan Head. Once back in Cody, I mounted the Pan Head on my Slik 634 tripod, then attached my Swarovski 80mm ATS spotting scope. I found the pan and tilt were very smooth. There was no extra play when panning/tilting or when the tension screws were locked down.

The Arca-Swiss two way pan head mount seemed a bit on the small side at first and I questioned its durability and looked forward to how it would handle my large spotter.

Apr 6, 2020 · Like I mentioned previously, the tripod did come with a Manfrotto Befree Fluid Head but I spent most of my time using the Outdoorsmans micro-pan head, dropping the total weight down about six ounces. The included Fluid Head would be plenty sufficient for any binocular and the typical spotting scope.

While the Pan Head is my go to for glassing, if you need an adjustable truly fluid pan and tilt, the Fluid Head would be a better option for you. Versatility

Dec 9, 2020 · The Outdoorsmans Micro Pan head makes for a sturdy rifle rest on either tripod. On a side note, the carbon is much warmer to the touch than aluminum.
