Apr 3, 2014 · The ASA ring is a known problem with the K2/K2DMD which might explain why Pentax dropped the design fairly quickly. I keep looking at K2s/K2DMDs but haven't yet succumbed to temptation. I have a feeling it might be only a matter of time, though.

Nov 4, 2015 · Last week I purchased a mint condition Pentax K2 for about GBP 20,- The reason for the low price was that the shutter is not working, or more precisely it is very slow and often gets stuck. The K2 is a beautiful camera, but the shutter design does seem a bit fragile. The cloth shutter in my Spotmatic or KX seems much more robust.

Mar 24, 2015 · The K2 was great in its day - I bought one to replace my SPII, but made a dash for the ME when it appeared, closely followed by the ME Super. But when I left that on a taxi, I replaced it with the Super A, and that was the camera I really loved.
