DOS Gaming on Pentium II 300MHz : r/dosgaming - Reddit
Feb 22, 2021 · A 300MHz Pentium II is an awesome machine for DOS gaming, in my experience. Now, it'll probably be too fast for speed-sensitive games from the 80s and early 90s, but it'll also offer ample performance for mid-late 90s titles.
AMD K6 vs Intel Pentium II : r/vintagecomputing - Reddit
As someone who had a K6-2 350, and a Pentium II 450, get the PII. The it will have way more L3 cache than the K6 and it will operate at 1/2 of CPU frequency, so one operation every second CPU clock cycle. Just be careful with AGP boards. I know not all AGP ports and boards fully compatible, and a mismatch can fry one of the other.
Pentium II, a call to arms! : r/buildapc - Reddit
Nov 9, 2015 · I really liked the chunky look and feel of those old Pentium II, III slot in CPU's. I spent £1000 on a Pentium II 350mhz PC in 1998. However it would be fair to say that my obsolete Raspberry Pi B with a single core System-On-a-Chip CPU at 1ghz is …

86Box v3.0: Pentium II, new machines/motherboards and more
Dec 1, 2021 · The drawback is of course performance. Depending on what software I'm running, I can emulate a Pentium 100MHz to a Pentium II 233MHz with my stock 7700k. If you want fast Windows 98 emulation you'll probably have better luck with Dosbox or QEmu.
Video Card for Pentium II for DOS Gaming? : r/vintagecomputing
Feb 9, 2021 · I have a Digital PC3500 Pentium II system which I'd like to use for some DOS and early Windows gaming. The bottom of the photo shows the NDX-style AGP slot. There are only a few used NDX-style AGP cards on eBay. Regular AGP cards won't work. Options: $10 ATI RAGE 109-51800-01 RAGE 128 AGP VIDEO CARD 16 Meg 6000711
Replacing my Pentium II 300MHz : r/vintagecomputing - Reddit
Feb 22, 2021 · Celerons have an odd dichotomy: The Pentium II had 512 KB of level 2 cache, but it ran at half the CPU speed - so on a 300 MHz P2, the cache ran at 150 MHz. The Celerons had only 128 KB of level 2 cache, but they ran at full CPU speed (and were on the same physical chip/die as the CPU, so much lower latency, too.)
Running Linux on a 486, Pentium, Pentium II, etc? : r/linux - Reddit
Feb 20, 2019 · If you are running Linux on an old x86 box (486, Pentium, Pentium II, III, etc) or even a more obscure machine (Sun, MIPS, etc), I would love to have your data as a point of comparison! First, create a 1MB file of random data: dd if=/dev/urandom of=/tmp/urandom bs=1M count=1 Then time how long it takes to pipe it through bzip2:

Why Not Pentium III? - 86Box : r/emulation - Reddit
The essay was intended to address the increasing number of "please add Pentium 3 and Pentium 4". Yes, a former developer forked 86Box to work on Pentium 3, but I was the one who told her to fork because initially, she insisted that we emulate the Athlon on 86Box and I kept saying no and she couldn't take that, then after forking, she decided to do the Pentium 3
