Pg thread usage is trying to be phased out in continental Europe. A new metric thread standard (EN 50262) will be phased in as mandatory beginning on March 1, 2001 replacing the Pg thread. There was a different standard for electrical conduit threads based on the 55° Whitworth thread form. That standard has been made obsolete.

with the function of defining dimensions, like DIN 46319 or DIN 46320. This means that the functions required by a cable gland can be realised without restrictions applied by prescribed forms, such as: • strain relief • degree of protection • impact strength • temperature range.

It features a hexagon size across flats of 16 mm, making it suitable for smaller cables and applications where space is limited. PG9: With a thread diameter of 15.2 mm, PG9 glands fit cables ranging from 4 mm to 8 mm in diameter. The hexagon size across flats is 19 mm, providing a balance between compact size and versatility.

The ten sizes PG 7 / 9 / 11 / 13,5 / 16 / 21 / 29 / 36 / 42 and PG 48 were replaced by eight new metric sizes, i.e. M 12 / 16 / 20 / 25 / 32 / 40 / 50 and M 63. No direct conversion is possible! By this new standard a suitable solution was not achieved.

We have two sizes, the PG-7 size is good for cables 0.118" to 0.169" diameter and this one, the PG-9 size, which is good for 0.158" - 0.252" diameter. These two are the most common sizes for power & data cables, be sure to measure them so you have the proper fit.

They are rated IP68 and 69K for protection from continuous submersion and high- pressure, high-temperature jets of water. They are also rated NEMA 4X, 6, and 12 for indoor and outdoor protection against corrosion, water projected from a hose, and dripping oils and lubricants.
