Aug 25, 2009 · The Type-R seems to sound a little clearer on the highs, but definitely lacks the midbass that the Type-S seems to have. The system that the speakers will be run on is a Pioneer Avic-F90BT, being amplified by a Rockford Fosgate Punch 501x.

May 27, 2014 · The Type-R is a good midrange product. The downside is the Type-X is not a lot more expensive (online market) and offers moderately better performance. Bang for the buck, the Type-X is a better buy.

Jun 20, 2009 · The Alpine Type R 6.5s aren't that bad, but, they were the "best" option that I could find at the time for my dang door panels. I tried other speakers, but they were either too deep or too big to fit in the stock location behind the grills in a 97 Civic.
