Clinical utility and practical interpretation of the video head …
Nov 1, 2015 · vHIT is a quantitative test for the high frequency VOR providing a higher sensitivity and specificity than the clinical HIT; vHIT can help differentiate peripheral and central vertigo and quantify chronic vestibulopathies; vHIT quality can be ensured by tight goggles, head movement velocities of 150-300°/s and control of pupil detection.
Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT): A Deep Dive | Interacoustics
May 30, 2023 · The vHIT can measure both covert and overt saccades as well as quantify the VOR gain making it a far superior method for analyzing the VOR. It has also been validated against the gold standard test of measuring eye movement – the scleral search coil.
In a 42 year old vestibular neuritis patient, VOR gain recovered from 0.25 0.62 after three weeks of vestibular rehabilitation (Schubert et al., 2006). High frequency VOR gain had previously been thought of as fairly stable until the advent of vHIT allowed relatively easy longitudinal testing.
VHIT Test - Dizziness-and-Balance.com
Aug 5, 2024 · The VHIT is an instrumented bedside technique used to diagnose reduction in vestibular function in one ear vs. the other. An examiner abruptly accelerates and then decellerates the head, moving the head in rapidly at high speed and then stopping it. The graphic above shows a positive VHIT in a patient with unilateral vestibular loss.

VHIT test NORMS - Dizziness-and-Balance.com
Oct 13, 2024 · Rather amazingly, about 22% of the normal population has "abnormal" vHIT tests (Suh et al, 2024). Obviously something is wrong as 22% of the population is not dizzy. What could explain this? Gains of the VHIT test -- "all over the place" in "all comers".
EyeSeeCam vHIT | vHIT system and goggles - Interacoustics
The video head impulse test (vHIT), also known as the head thrust test, is a powerful clinical tool to assess vestibular function. EyeSeeCam vHIT provides quick and objective measurements of the vestibular-ocular reflex (VOR).
vHIT: A Comprehensive Overview - e3 Diagnostics
vHIT is a handy test that provides diagnostic and functional information about the vestibular system, specifically the vestibular ocular reflex (VOR). Learn more about this exam and the vHIT goggles used to perform it today!
What is the role of the Video Head Impulse Test in Vestibular …
The vHIT is a measure of high frequency VOR function while caloric irrigations are a measure of extremely low frequency VOR function. These measures are often complementary to one another. Meniere’s Disease Vs.
What is the potential clinical utility of vHIT when assessing adult ...
The Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT) measures the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR), and is anatomically correlated to semicircular canal function in the peripheral vestibular system, motor nuclei in the brainstem, and extra-ocular muscles. 1 vHIT reveals vestibular hypofunction via measured gain reduction and the presence of covert or overt saccades ...
