The Tributes steering wheel tended to sit nearly on my legs which made it uncomfortable for me to drive (and that is with the tilt steering all the way up). The Rav4 gives me pleanty of room both as the driver and the back seat passenger. If airlines had as much room as the Rav4's back seat area, I wouldn't be as annoyed flying lol.

We are leaning towards a 2007 Rav4 base model with third row seats. But can the 166 hp V4 engine haul a fully-loaded 7- seater with ease? Or, is a V6 an absolute must-have? I'll be needing the third row only occasionally -mainly for within-city driving with small kids. Thanks!

I have the Rav4 base 4wd, 4cyl. This vehicle is great in the snow. I live in Colorado and believe me I have tested this vehicle out recently. You would only need the 4wd for very heavy snow or off roading. The 4wd system turns off once you reach 25mph anyway. I would agree with the other person in that you probably do not even need the 4wd.
