Jan 12, 2022 · I’ve seen a couple of posts joking about Asriel’s/Ralsei’s names being anagrams of Israel, but I wonder if there’s an actually interesting biblical reference there that’s nothing to do with the state, and I haven’t seen anyone mention it before. Biblically, Israel is a person’s name.

Asriel Dreemurr (typically /ˈæzriəl ˈdɹiːmər/) is the biological child of Toriel and Asgore, the adoptive brother of the first human, and the former prince of monsters. He serves as the final boss of the True Pacifist Route, replacing Asgore in New Home.

Ralsei is a Darkner and one of the deuteragonists (along with Susie) of Deltarune. He claims to be the "Prince from the Dark" mentioned in the Prophecy. Having weaker attack and less max health, and with the ability to cast healing spells, Ralsei acts as the party's healer. He wields his scarf in combat. Ralsei is depicted as a short Darkner.
