Nov 3, 2013 · 1-14 in the .22 Hornet is generally good for longer 40 gr and 45 gr bullets like the V-max as well as flat based bullets in the 55 grain range - provided you keep the velocity up and are not shooting in cold weather. Stay away from the longest boat tailed, polymer pointed 55 gr bullets and you should be ok.

It's not that Ruger can not produce more No.1,it's a matter of priority and managed demand. The Special Offerings, per Lipsey's, often sell out.

Mar 25, 2013 · I would suggest a CZ 527 bolt action in .22 Hornet. A way better shooter than the Ruger I had in the same round. Sorry Ruger fans, but I have had both and just relating my experiances. I still have a #3 Ruger carbine in .22 Hornet and likewise it isn't as good a shooter as the CZ, but I still like the little #3 carbine especially the styling.

Aug 2, 2011 · Again, this is an early, non-prefix action (1967-1969), so any 22 Hornet barrel is NOT original to this action. The original barrel was removed and Mr. Crosman rebarreled the action with a non-Ruger 22 Hornet barrel of 18 (or more) inches. The value is whatever a willing seller will pay for a short-barreled 22 Hornet "shooter".

Jan 4, 2021 · Ruger might be looking at it again, according to R.E.N.E. they made at least one prototype of a Stainless 10 1/2" Super Blackhawk Hunter. Maybe it's a future offering or just another rare Ruger. Either way it's a nice addition to the collection if you can get it.

Sep 21, 2013 · The magazine for a 17 Hornet (JHX-2) Holds 6 rounds and feeds the 22 K-hornet great. Only problem with 77/22 Hornet is the magazine is a little short for some bullets. The 40 gr. V-Max is single round proposition when loaded to the proper depth, but some of the other 45 gr. bullets can be loaded to feed from the magazine when seated to proper LOA.

I thoroughly enjoyed popping through a box of 50 (saving all my brass) shooting at ranges of 35 yards to 250 at everything from golf balls to pieces of brick shards. I'm overall pretty happy with the Ruger 77/22 although the trigger is woefully lacking compared to my other plinkers.
