Oct 19, 2021 · This really isn't a soundfont player, though. It's a great synth, but doesn't do soundfount. It can simply load your samples from an .sf2 and use its own modulation - but none of the progreamming the .sf2 programmer set up.

Jun 20, 2012 · It's the only decent no-nonsense 64bit SF player that properly loads .sf2 files. It does have some rough edges but the latest release added both ADSR and filter controls. And most importantly it sounds amazing.

For free, it's definitely a pretty good little plugin. It doesn't get the best sound out of the SoundFonts (not sure why there'd be variation in SF players like that, but maybe I just don't know enough about them), but you can work around it decent enough.

KX SF2 is a soundfont player advanced and complete. Some soundfonts I can't access their banks, such as Canvas Curse's SF2 (which banks are very crucial) This can play HUGE SF2 files effortlessly. Very reliable. For some reason this is the only SF-Player which can play back the Soundfonts I created myself. Skin could be better.

SamplerFont is a flexible sampler instrument to play SoundFont files in .sf2 format (v2.04 compliant) with an optimized soundfont player engine and integrated filters, envelope generator and reverb. Available as plugin in VST and VST3 64 bit versions for Windows.

SFS 2 is a complete SF2 player. Favorite SF2 player vst, its features are solid and it sounds great. Lacks the clicking sound that most SF2 vsts have on LMMS.
