Mar 29, 2012 · In my humble opinion the ELCAN is a great optic for the full-barreled SCAR-17. A .308 was never meant for close-quarters, but the 1x or 1.5x will work great at "short range", which would be from 10yards and out.

May 6, 2010 · I have shot the SCAR with an Aimpoint M68 CCO, T-1(Larue Mount), and ELCAN (ARMS Mount). I tend to train with my mags loaded 7-15 rounds in order to conduct a lot of transitions and reloads... This ended up being painful on more than one occasion.

Apr 3, 2022 · The Scar 17 is infamous for killing optics so which one is the right choice? The Elcan 1.5-6 is a nice rigid option but it seems like the theres a cap on range and adjustablity. LPVO 1-6/8/10 is a considerable choice but I feel like I either use 1 or 6/8/10 on my current LPVO and nothing in between.

Of course, photos of your SCARs are always appreciated as well! Avoid cantilever mounts and stick to proven scopes. On my SCARs, I’ve got ELCAN 1.5-6x, S&B 1-8x, EoTechs + mags, Aimpoint T2, Trijicon prism.

Aug 15, 2022 · Can on top is ELCAN - SpecterDR 1.5-6X 7.62MM RIFLE SCOPE. It’s rugged and glass is clear as the Caribbean Sea. Always read the SCAR was hard on optics and I knew this would survive. It’s a dad but outdated with the reticle but perfect “period piece” for the SCAR. Also adds to the fifty shades of FDE thing perfectly.
