Say you are sitting back, catch an inside edge, the ski is not rotated but moves laterally to the outside, your knee cannot rotate that way, the classic ACL injury results.

Feb 15, 2016 · In the early eighties (might have been mid eighties) a friend built the first pair of release-able bindings for telemark skiing using a Spademan binding, What he did was mount the binding backwards on the telemark skis and then took the brass butterfly toe plate and mounted it backwards on the very front of the toe of the telemark boot.

Mar 21, 2016 · This was a subject of discussion at the event. It was not all weight related with the Spademan as the choice of freestylers but the short mount distance allowing the ski to flex under the boot. The lack of a toe peice to get in the way in ballet was also key.

Feb 15, 2016 · The S-7 and S-9 seem a cost cutting step backwards from the S4 binding. I would certainly ski the S4 after a torque test. The S-7/S-9 have the old plastic issues and I wouldn't trust them. I agree, the S4 is the Pivot 15, 957R, Mojo 15 of Spademans.
