Feb 1, 2022 · For the Old Course, my husband advised that you get online of the St. Andrews Trust . This is a lottery for two or more golfers, and he thinks it was was 48 hours in advance. Keep in mind that all golfers walk at the course , there are no motorized carts, unless you have a medical exemption, the definition of which is very strict.

Jan 10, 2016 · I can highly recommend The Keys Bar which is a pub right on the main street in St Andrews for a beer, whisky and food. It is our favorite place to visit in St Andrews especially after a day on the links. We shall be there in May and we enjoy it every year. The staff are extremely friendly and they have a very large selection of whiskies.

Aug 6, 2022 · Carnoustie is a short drive from St. Andrews, and my husband played it as a single, He loved the experience and did have an advance reservation. We were in St. Andrews on a Sunday and were able to walk the Old Course since they do not allow play on that day.

Jan 15, 2017 · I'd suggest staying 2 nights in St. Andrews and making a foray up to Dundee for a day; it's only about 1/2 hr to 1 hr drive, depending on traffic and where in Dundee you want to end up. The Old Course Hotel is the iconic place to stay, a little more expensive than some others but not terribly -- and it has an indoor swimming pool.

Walks are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August. The tour takes approximately 50 minutes.

Aug 20, 2019 · We do plan on spending an entire day in St Andrew's, to enjoy the town, see the Old Course, the Cathedral and Castle, and now the beach you mentioned! The four of us golf, so may even try to squeeze a round of putting at the St Andrews Ladies' Putting club-fun piece of history. I appreciate the advice on non peak "anytime" tickets for the train.

May 21, 2023 · I would say absolutely it's worth it. And yes, very easy- train to Leuchars, and bus from the station entrance into St Andrews. Purchase as a through ticket to destination 'St Andrews Bus'. That may only be possible on line through the Scotrail website, but can be purchased at a station booking office or a station ticket machine.

Sep 8, 2019 · Since golf is on your agenda, you might want to see if there is a hotel with a combination golf/hotel stay package that might save you money. I limit my St Andrews golf to the Himalayas putting course, so I don't know much more about this. I would definitely look to see if such packages are available.

Unlike the regular St Andrews courses, the Himalayas doesn't require a handicap or any golf experience at all, it's just family fun! There are no lockers or other facilities to leave your belongings. You do not have to wear golf shoes. Any flat or low-heeled shoes or boots are acceptable.
