Dec 1, 2023 · Never, ever leave your cat alone with a candle. I had a candle lit, and my childhood cat decided that he should sit right next to it. Yes, his fur started smoldering. I was able to shove him away and stop his fur smoldering without any visible damage to him, but if I hadn't been RIGHT THERE I don't know what would have happened.
