Dec 21, 2005 · You simply cannot drift an MR2 very well without a very large amount of power. To get that power you are going to have to use a large turbo which creates lag which basically makes it impossible to drift.

Oct 11, 2005 · I think a MR2 can be competitive with very extensive chassis modifications. Most importantly would be to the steering to get more angle out of it. If you're just drifting for fun, than I don't see anything wrong with the MR2, as long as you're not going for crazy angle like D1. Why aren't there very good MR2 drifters?

Jul 12, 2020 · Current MR2 owner here, mine makes ~350 horsepower. It's probably one of the best handling cars on the market, sub a new $100,000+ car. It can do pretty much everything from Drag racing to time attack to Track race and more. But a drift car it is not.
