Feb 18, 2022 · I can tell you 100% that the hybrid rav4 is one of the most reliable cars we sell. The 2022 has little changes, the 2019 was the rough model year to avoid. Avoid the XSE models, they ride quite rough and for long term XLE is ideal. I'd only consider a hybrid model currently. They are much better to drive now and have huge results with fuel economy.

Generally 4wd is more controllable and more powerful than awd (4lo and lockers) and certainly works better off road than an awd system. But you can't have 4wd on while driving on dry pavement (not an issue because you don't need it anyway).
